Spanish Village or Bust

Hi All, I decided this past week to go Full Time Spanish Village. So many of you asked where you can find me and my answer was always a bit hazy, here there and everywhere….Well I decided to make it easy for everyone! I’ll be in Spanish Village Every Weekend! It’s first come first serve with location on the patio so I can never be sure exactly where I’ll be, but usually by Daniels Coffee Cart.

I have new work every week so come on down and see what’s new. For a preview add me to you Instagram where I usually post videos of my weekend tables with all available pieces.

You can still always find a smaller selection of my work as well as Pessia’s in the Potters Guild studio #29

I am so happy to have found Spanish Village in Balboa park and become a juried in member. I started selling on the patio near Daniels Coffee on Labor day and it has been a whirlwind. I have gotten to meet so many lovely people! I really enjoy talking with everyone not just about my pottery, but about life in general :) We have all gone through so much this past year which creates a lot of common ground!!!

If you’re in the San Diego area this is absolutely where you’ll find the largest selection of my work. Not having to photograph and package/ship my pieces has given me more time to create! I couldn’t be more thrilled with how that has worked out. Plus I love the personal feedback and connections I make, I’ve even had customers request to take a photo with me, the artist. Honestly what a complement! I’m honored, Thank you!

Please come visit. I’m there from 9-4 every weekend. (unless the patio is rented by another group)

I will also be doing the La Jolla Arts and Wine festival Oct 9-10, so come check me out there as well.

So the world is moving right along! Just got my second vaccination and so have so many around here! That makes me much more comfortable having students, so please if you are at all interested in classes, now is a great time to start playing with clay.

If Covid has taught me anything, its that selling online is a great option (along with the fact that I am indeed a social creature) So please check out my ETSY page if you don’t see what you want here. Its hard to post everything everywhere.

Also I am happy to take commissions, so of course you are welcome to contact me, I’m easy to work with, and we will make you exactly what you need :)

So happy to be moving right along with growing the pottery business. I have decided to use Sarah Parent Pottery as the main name now as it is easier to find on Google. I’m really getting the ETSY site up and running and there are some more pieces on there if you can’t find what you’re looking for here on my Website.

Also trying to start up on Facebook and Pinterest, So much to do these days!

I have decided upon request to also start making pet urns, so If that’s something you are interested in let me know. I’d be happy to work with you to get you not only the right size, but also a buddy name tag and dates.

Vases are also on the way, I had an order and made lots, so be on the lookout for those soon!

Thanks so much and stay safe. We are almost through this Covid craziness!

What a crazy last few months in the world. The Vaccine is out and will hopefully be ending all the Covid Crazyness. I have been just working away in my studio, making new items, doing commissions and teaching a few classes. I am happy to report that I’m loving my new studio! Its so easy to work in and also have a small gallery up in the corner and several customers have come in to purchase. I’m so excited to keep growing my business out here.

Because there has been some confusion about the name as there is another Fired Earth Pottery in WI, I have added Sarah Parent Pottery to my name and even got the Domain “SarahParentPottery.com” so you can now find me either way!

I am also really excited about a new idea I’m working on. I will Personalize your pottery with an inscription on the bottom of the pot. Whether its a quote, a poem, a personal note of whatever you can think up, I will write through black slip on the bottom of the pottery your exact words in my handwriting.

Perhaps its “Dear Grandma, We love you so much, happy 75th Birthday, from Mike and Joan”

Or “To my dearest Love, Sharing our life together has been the greatest accomplishment of my life, Your loving spouse, Leslie”

Of course Because its a personalized item it will take a few weeks to make and ship out so give it some extra time.

Quarterly Gift Box

Also Very Exciting is my new Quarterly Gift Box, a surprise gift you give yourself or a friend every season! Clink on pic for link.

All the best to everyone out there. May life start looking Normal in the very near future. Stay safe until then!

Well, I did it. I moved to San Diego. I only arrived 4 days ago and am definitely still settling in. I think its going to be a while. I am moving into a studio in San Marcos with glass and wood artists ASAP, but first I have to get my stuff over there and thats taking a little longer than planned.

Next I need to find a few galleries in this area, perhaps La Jolla and Solona beach,. I’ll post my new galleries as I know them.

If you know somewhat what you want for the holidays, I am happy to make it for you and ship it after a few pictures meet your approval. Please don’t hesitate to contact me! I would love it. This is just such a strange year due to Covid and the move.

I hope everyone out there is getting along O.K. and staying healthy during this crazy time.

Thanks for checking out my website!

Well the world continues to spin although it seems that everything else about it is changing. Covid has changed the way we all live. I hope you are all doing OK out there.

I have made a decision to move to San Diego to be closer to my folks as well as my two younger children. I leave in two weeks. My kids and I are busy packing up the house including a lot of pottery that we were able to make in the last six months. Some of it will go on the website for the next few months. I will also try to have pop up sales in San Diego once I get settled in.

Pessia is staying in Seattle and will be moving to the Greenlake area. She will be available if you want to purchase an item and not have it shipped, but would rather pick it up in person (wearing a mask).

Stay healthy and safe out there everyone. I know winter will be hard, but I believe we can persevere and this will be over by spring with vaccines that work.

Pop up sales

Well with all the galleries closed I decided Pop-up sales was a great option. I have done three so far, One in June and two in August. It has been so lovely meeting neighbors from close and far. Everyone has been so sweet, thanks to all of you who stopped by.

I’m planning another Pop up in conjunction with Bill and Nick from Pike and Pine studios on Sept 18-20th at 1512 MLK jr Way. I’d love to see you there.

covid craziness

Hope you are all doing well and staying healthy during this crazy time. I am of course concerned for my families health and the well being of especially the most vulnerable out there. That said there is a silver lining. I have my kids home and am surrounded by close family, which is lovely. I also get to focus on pottery. Improving my glazes, making some new ones, building up a lot of back stock for when we do reopen and also trying to get more pots up on this website.

I am now also showing in the Seattle Art Museum, Kobo and Colombia city Gallery. When they reopen of course.

I’m trying to show some work on Facebook, look for Sarah Jacqueline Parent

and on Instagram @sarah.parent

Let me know if you have any questions or to request items or even working videos.

It was so lovely to see so many old friends and make new ones at the Seward Park show on Friday. Quite a few piece moved on to their forever homes. If you are one of the new owners, I would absolutely love to see your pot in action. Please snap a shot and email me your pots in use. Or tag me in your Instagram @sarah.parent

I hope to have new items out by next weekend as well as earrings and some necklaces.

Happy holidays!!!

Nov 2019

I am now in Madrona, a fabulous neighborhood and very busily making pots! I’ve got some already at Colombia City Gallery so if you are excited to see what I’ve got out already, feel free to pop by there. They often have openings and I believe there is a free wine tasting coming up soon.

I’ve been enjoying making tri-petal bowls lately and I’m hoping to have quite a few at the Seward Park Studio show opening on Dec 6th 2019. Also available will be my new soft rimmed bowls, those have yet to be glazed so I hope I’m not giving myself some bad juju by saying that.

Right now I’m waiting for the kiln to cool so I can open it and see what some new glazes are doing. Hoping for the best, ready for the worst as usual. Here’s to hoping I’m in the good graces of the kiln gods.
